Turquoise, which is for protection of the wearer,  is the main stone that Native American Indian's use in their jewelry, but they also utilize other local other gemstones such as Garnet, Amethyst, Lapis Lazuli, Denim Lapis, Malachite, Tiger Eye, Black Onyx, Opal, Mother of Pearl, Pink Mussel Shell, Paua Shell, and Red Coral. Traditionally,  Native American jewelry is mounted in Sterling Silver.
