Hand craftsmanship is a rare find nowadays, but we found hand made, hand crafted, and hand carved boxes for all your treasures and trinkets. We have found these stunning pieces created by hand from various materials including fine woods such as Ebony wood, Sese wood, Crocodile wood, Calabash Gourd, Pine Leaf wood, Kadam wood, Mango wood, Linaloe wood, Teakwood, Bamboo, and Sono wood. We also offer decorative boxes made from tooled leather, marble, gemstones, copper, ceramic, soapstone, silk, and hand painted glass. Some of them feature details of wrought iron, brass, nickel, aluminum, gold leaf, and silver.

Lacquered boxes go through a painstaking process: The desired shape is carved and coated it with lacquer. Once dried, it is polished, and another coat is applied - up to twenty times - before as many six coats of pure lacquer are present. The final layer is polished with powdered fired clay. Then the motifs are etched with a technique called lai kad (which is a dug-out pattern) and painted.

We even have a box made from recycled metal pieces, including parts from a car's rocker arm, remnants from die machines, and screws.

On its lid, a crocodile speaks to popular wisdom of traditional adinkra symbols, this one representing adaptability. Elephants, embossed in aluminum, adorn the sides with their power and strength. Such chests were once used by Zongo chiefs. "I am introducing this ancient-style treasure box for power and protection over one's family," Osmanu says.

Hand-carved with sublime detail from crocodile wood, this most captivating jewelry box features a scene from the famed Hindu epic Ramayana. Wayan Rendah uses the white grain of crocodile wood to depict a chapter in the lives of Rama and his beloved wife Sita. Rendah then embellishes the piece with oil paints and gold leaf accents. In the Ramayana, Rama was sent into exile to live in a forest, and his wife Sita followed him. Meanwhile, Rahwana the evil king of Alengka, was enchanted by the beauty of Sita, and wanted to have her as his concubine. He sent one of his most trusted knights, Marica, to tempt Sita by transforming himself into a golden deer. Sita was taken by her curiosity and asked Rama to catch the golden deer. Rama marked a magic circle in the ground for protection, warning Sita to stay within it while he was away looking for the deer. Rahwana then appeared in the form of an old beggar enticing Sita to leave the circle, and the evil king promptly kidnapped her. Many subsequent chapters in the Ramayana tell of Rama's adventures as he tries to rescue his wife.
